Today Youth BuZZ Reads:-

Growing in true devotion.

Many times i believe we post the question to God, are You Real.
Is what we go thru For REAL?

I believe many of our walk with God begin when we were lost and searching for a new meaning or solution to the troubles that surrounded us. In that crisis or moment of truth, God revealed Himself and we were suddenly release from the burdens that weighed heavily upon us.

GOD WAS REAL!

In that moment of gratitude, we grew in eagerness and in the passion of that first love with God. We gave ourselves to His desires and in the many subsequent journeys we made Him our foundation stone. His desires became ours, No Sacrifice was too great for Him. Spending hours in His presence, worshiping and praying, seeking and waiting upon Him was not much a struggle.

However, as time passed and life returned BACK TO NORMAL. There were moments of high and we return to that momentary close relationship with God. Learning from the Holy Spirit was circumstancial and incidental. We begin to put God as a daily supplement to the many things we needed to achieve. We still gave alot to God, but we keep a small space for personal desires. Slowly, He became good advice and not too long later He became a spiritual vending machine.

However, life doesn't let up. Good careers, marriage, children, better grades, BGR, studies, CCA, or life sturggles and many little things slowly begin to crowd out the intimacy with God we once enjoyed. Going to church became just a weekly thing that we do. God was in our minds but not on our minds.

So for many, the cycle begins again when crisis hits. Than we are drawn into a second chance with this re-dedication to the Lord. However, if God wasn't our foundation stone again, the cycle will repeat itself in our lives. Incidental to Supplemental to Ornamental.

This unfortunately is the life cycle of quite a few brothers and sisters i have known. Many i have known for many years. Giving God all in the beginning and through time losing that desire as PERSONAL DESIRES or LIFE"S BUSYNESS grinds away that surrendering spirit.

The good news is you have a BETTER ALTERNATIVE. You can become part of the other growing minority. They do not say that they have lay hold of what Christ has set for them. But their's is a simplicity in a surrendered faith. They place their complete trust and strive towards a daily denial of their desires while putting on God's desires. The Holy Spirit is their daily companion and counsel.

Christ grows as the foundation in their lives as the word of God is their daily meditation, their hearts are open daily and yielded even as they struggle. They live lives that slowly reveals the reality of grace, increasing provision and growing abundance in the blessings of God. They are unyielding in their faith, steadfast in oppression and faithful in times of troubles.

Grace is prevalent in their speech and love covers their every step. These are the God chasers you want to follow, cos you know they follow the Lord TRUELY. For in them though you will see human failings but also often you will see God's redeeming grace. Because their hearts are true, teacheable and yielding. They will be and are constantly transformed from glory to glory.

Don't envy them or admire from afar. Join them by doing the simplest thing they did. They surrendered their will completely and decided take up the cross daily. It's hard but it's both amazing and freeing. As you do so, Christ will become your foundation stone as you daily walk this road of total dependence unto the LORD. For they are simple people like you and me.

Let today be the day of our humble beginnings in God. As we pray that His will be done, daily in our lives as we walk in dependence on Him, yielding and with open hands.

Learning daily just like you, PsD
