1 John 3:1-3 (New International Version)
1How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears,we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.

It was Valentines' day last Thursday. As couples flooded the streets and atempt to commemorate this day, businessmen are trying to exploit the season by jacking up the prices of flowers. To me, V'day was over-rated and definitely very commercialised. Glad to say, i was doing my devotion and i came upon this above phrase and it dawned upon me that, be it valentines' day or not, and be it whether you are single or attached, we are all well-loved by God. God lavished his love on us, he did not simply give it but he gave it in abundance, making sure that it blanket us whole. the word 'lavish' indicates extravagance, it indicates unstincting. So, with such great love that has been poured upon us, lets not be pondering over how untreasured we are, but instead, be thankful and start to orientate our focus on God instead on man. God, is our best companion, not only on earth but also in heaven (:

The best place to find love is not in another person but in a book, the Bible. The Bible tells of God’s great love for us. In John 3:16. When you combine all the Red words, you'll get VALENTINE, isn't it amazing?

For God so loVed the world, that He gAve His onLy begottEn soN That whoever believes In Him should Not perish, but have Everlasting life.
