Where is the baby?

I came across this small booklet on the table, suppose it is my Mum’s. The whole booklet is written in Chinese, so whatever I am writing will be translated by Professor Jovii.

This is very similar to what Pastor Eugene has preached about the week before Christmas service. Here is one page from the booklet. The story goes like this:

There are two ladies dressed in beautiful clothes who went to a restaurant for dinner. A friend saw them and went forth to greet them.

Friend: What special occasion is it today?
2 Ladies: We are celebrating the 2nd birthday of the child at home.
Friend: But, where is the child?
Child’s mum: Oh! He is at my Mum’s house. During the celebration party, my Mum will take care of him. If he is here, the party will not be fun at all.

Isn’t it ridiculous? The party was supposed to celebrate the baby’s birthday and yet the baby is not welcomed. Think about it, during Christmas, we come up with all kinds of celebration activities and yet forgot that it is Jesus’s birthday. He is the one that should be glorified.

However, the truth is that is how many people celebrate Christmas, they are so enthusiastic in attending Christmas gatherings, buying presents, gather with their family… but forgot totally whose birthday it is!

So, when this Christmas is approaching this year, when you and your friends and family spend this nice time together, please do not forget Christ himself who should be glorified.

Love,
Jovii =pP
