Luke 6:31 Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Christians know them by heart, but how many have been able to do that. The Lord brings me back to this verse which I sometimes leave out because its too familiar to me. I see the irony that I have to learn this verse all over again even when its so simple.

Some people are hard to get along. And the problem remains even when I attempt to spend quality time with them and be nice to them. So I have begun to be aloof to such people. But the Lord tells me that he will provide a way that is easier for me, and that is loving them in Him. So no matter what kind of people they are, even when they never appreciate me for making that effort to be nice to them, on my part, I should have loved them all the same.

Therefore, respect people if you want them to respect you.
