The year is almost coming to an end.. I have been thinking and reflecting on my spiritual walk with the lord..

As we all know, this year is a season of looking far, asking big and going deep and to me the hardest of all was going deep.. Despite being a Christian for almost four years, i still encounter
difficulty in going deep with the lord.. Initially, i thought thatwhat is required for me to go deep was just reading and understanding the scripture.. However it was only when i stumbled upon this passage in a book which dawned upon me that my definition of going deep was really superficial..

It is said that there was this man who read the bible 12 times yet there were still moral disorders in his life that were not dealt with.. Well this proved that reading the bible is simply not enough but also allowing the bible to read us and be changed by it.. In the book, the author emphasised the importance of highlighting a verse in the bible that you come upon.. After which you allow your mind to meditate and ponder on it. Reflect on the verse and probe it with questions thus triggering your mind and making you think. I believe that this has a powerful effect as its one of the ways of how God has showed me his revelation and manifestation..

There were also a lot of times i cannot perceive or understand what the lord is doing even though i do read the bible. The funny thing is i can't recall a single thing that i have read at the end of the day .. This led me to the fact that is not just about reading, understanding and memorising the verse but also meditating and pondering on it.. It is only then the lord will reveal certain things in your life that you do not understand before.. That is HIS revelation.. Even so, it is time consuming as this means that i have to spend more time with the lord.. However i got the conviction to do it especially when the author said that reading the bible but not meditating on it is like eating your food without chewing on it..
