Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, "You shall not commit adultery," "You shall not murder," "You shall not steal," "You shall not bear false witness," "You shall not covet," and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
- Romans 13:8-10

I'm sure most of us (if not all) already know the Ten Commandments. But did you know that it could be summarised into one commandment? Paul says in Romans 13:8-10 that "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

It's a commandment I often find myself struggling with. Sure you can love those who are nice to you. But what about those who aren't all that nice? Do you ignore them, treat them badly?

You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
- Matthew 5:43

Apparently not! Jesus wants us to love our enemies (or people you don't really like) too! It's a question I've asked myself tons of times. Why love them since it's so hard to? You see, when we love God, we must recognize that everyone is part of His creation. And if it's His creation, then we ought to love the person too.

No one ever said it was easy, but if you don't try, you'll never know won't you?

For the 100K, one of my last few blessings was shared with someone who I've had several 'conflicts' with. We're friends, but just that we don't quite agree on everything & when I was looking to bless people in the final stretch, God asked me, why are you being so selective about who you're blessing? I didn't quite want to bless that person beause I really couldn't imagine myself praying for her, but I could sense Him telling me that I should love each and everyone of his creation, including that particular friend. So I finally asked, and she seemed surprised but she agreed after a day or so. And now not only have I blessed her, she's definitely been a lot friendlier around me too. :)

Have you loved your neighbour yet?
