John 1:38 Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked."What do you want?"

Whenever Jesus asks us "What do you want?", usually the answers would be health, wisdom, progress in career, financial freedom and so on. It suddenly dawned onto me that, sometimes, we miss a chance to spend time with Jesus because we're seeking something else other than His presence. Jesus always longs for our fellowship more than we long for His.

Sometimes when we've not done what we ought to do(homework,project..etc), we'll tend to procrastinate about spending time with Jesus. That's when we start to place other issues as our top priorities, and Jesus, second.

I used to have this struggle between my studies and God, but after placing my priorities right,
I have found much peace when I spent time with Him as well as learning how to cope well with my studies. I know that no matter how much I've tried, it will not be as productive as seeking God and relying on His strength. Once it's surrendered to Him, I'll know that He'll just take care of everything , and I did not have to worry.

Just like this verse from Ecclesiates2:10-11 says "I denied myself nothing my eyes desired;I refused my heart no pleasure. My heart took delight in all my work, and this was the reward for all my labor.Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve,
everything was meaningless,a chasing after the wind;nothing was gained under the sun."

Hope that this devotion will encourage all of you to always seek God in all circumstances, because He is your pillar of strength that will always be a source of support for you!

God bless you!

-Chantel :)
