Some testimonies to share…..

Not too long ago, I heard a very encouraging testimony from an ex-member of Campus Crusade for Christ. I don’t know his name, so I’ll just call him A. Not that I heard from him personally, but I heard it from a staff working for Crusade.

Okay, here’s the story: A studied in Singapore polytechnic. During his time in poly, he’s a member of the CCC. If I remembered correctly, the vision of CCC is to win the whole campus for Christ. And CCC always has this slogan which goes, “Moments everywhere, so that everyone will know someone who truly follows Jesus.” Obviously, A was keen to win his class to Christ which was within the scope of his influence in school. He had 2 other Christian classmates in the same class. So the 3 of them started to commit themselves to interceding for their classmates. What happened along the way, I do not know. But what I know is this; last year; all of his classmates became Christians. It began with just 3 men of God who started praying. Just for the benefit for those in JCs, each poly class on average is about 20 people. So in the end, 17 people were won over to Christ. To me, that was amazing.

Inspired by this testimony, I went back to class and told another brother about it. So the 2 of us started praying for our classmates. But one thing I have to admit, I wasn’t committed to praying for them everyday. I pray only when I remember. Somehow I felt our prayers were answered. I always pray for open hearts and good opportunities to talk.

Then the 100K challenge campaign came; which I’m glad I took part. Most of the people I blessed were from my own class. It gave me a lot of chances to find out more about my classmates. My relationships with my classmates can be considered quite well. I had quite a good number of chances to talk with a few classmates beyond just blessings on that pamphlet. But I’ll just share 2 of them.

There is this girl on my class who happens to attend CHC. She accepted the Lord in Sec 3 or 4 can’t remember. All along, I don’t think she has been doing quiet time whatsoever. She also had a non-believing boyfriend. I can still remember some time back, she told me off. She said I should be more focused on my studies and stuffs because she knew I wasn’t doing well in studies. So when the 100K challenge came, I don’t know if I should go out to her and bless her. But in the end, by faith, I went. Prayer works! Her heart was receptive. I noticed on the pamphlet she ticked all. But I was more concerned about the last 3 which is forgiveness, eternal life and fullness of the Holy Spirit. I went on to ask her if she knew what it means. Anyway I explained to her and ask if she wanted to re-dedicate her life to Jesus. She said yes. I wasn’t convinced. I wanted to make sure she knew what it meant. If I remembered correctly, I shared with her the cost of discipleship. I shared the heart of God too. In the end she still said yes. Then we prayed. One thing to note: this happened after the last lesson of the day when her friends are all going home. Normally she goes with them, but she stayed back to listen to me when she could have just told me she wanted to go. Praise God!

Now, there’s another girl in my class who sort of knows Jesus. I got a really good chance to talk to her last Thursday. Again it’s after school. She also had the last 3 boxes ticked. I explained again about cost of discipleship and the heart of God. Blah blah blah……Okay, to cut a long story short, she invited the Lord into her heart that day.

I have spoken to these 2 girls about the encounter weekend, their hearts are receptive. Pray that they will come. I think through these 2 girls, God has sent an encouragement to me. Now, I’ll wait and see what He can do in my class! Okay, I need to study for my tests, later fail again.

Glory to the Lord!

Steven
