I hope I'm not late for today's devotion aka my first devotion <:]

I want to share about something that spoke to me deeply during last week's
cell, something we know but so often overlook; The one commandment that
begins with "Remember" yet has sometimes been forgotten.

We all have been juggling with studies/work and the 100k campaign for the
past weeks, and for me, I must say sometimes it is really not that
smooth-sailing all the time. Sometimes I face so much stress with my studies
and all I do is to mug and mug and mug. And the worst comes when you reach
home form church on sunday, and realised the mountains of work undone. ( and
you say" sian ! D: " )

But when eunice shared during cell about the sabbath day, It spoke volumes to
my soul.

God says in Exdous 20:8-10 " Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.
Six days you shall do labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a
Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work.. For in the
six days the Lord made the heavens and earth, the sea and all that is in
them, but he rested on the seventh day."

The Sabbath day was made and set apart for man from the time of creation.
God blessed and sanctified the seventh day, and in it He rested from all His
works. It was an ordained time for His children to focus on a close personal
relationship with his Maker. So I pray that each seventh day, you'll really
lay aside EVEYTHING else, be it your unfinished homework or others, and find
great rest form our God.

All in all, the Sabbath looks back to creation and reminds man of his
Creator. It recalls for those who keep the seventh day holy that God is the
One who has redeemed them from sin. And since its one of God's Ten
commandments, the more we should obey it right?

So dont do last min work but set yourself apart on sunday, for rest and for
God !

With Much Love,
Lena.
