TRUST ME or “TRUST ME”? (Part 1)

I always struggle when writing devotions for DE tribe blog because I was self conscious about how people will think when they read my post. Will it speak to them? What will they think of me when I write about my personal walk with the Lord which is not very nice ones? But after the last post where I have learnt to put all those concerns down and just write nothing but the truth and what I really want to share with the others, I felt so free to share with “OHANA” -- family. So, for those people who are experiencing the same thing as me.. Jia you! I believe when we share something, many others will be blessed.

Below is the 1st of 3 points from Pastor Laifun’s session which I took away from the cluster camp which I just came back from.

1) Trust God
Proverbs 3: 5-6 (NIV)
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight."

I was looking through DE blog pictures when my granny who is super anti- Christ walked past me. She asked about who are these people and just nice, the slideshow showed Pastor Danny and Evelyn speaking with the mike in front of the people. And don’t know where did I get the courage to say, “These two are my pastors” *pointing at the screen*. Then here she comes along – AS USUAL… “Don’t believe in them ar…Your Dad is the god child of guan yin ma (or something I don’t know who la)…they are cheating you…

Thinking she have ended her debate with me after she left… She walked back to me and continued…and out of nowhere…

Granny: you know what is a "Medium" ma?

Sian diao de Jovii: ya..(*thinking* haven’t finish ar…not some more pls…)

Granny: A Medium said that Christians are all homeless in hell, wandering around in the streets in hell. Nothing to eat… (becos Christians don’t burn things for their dead family members or have those food offerings while other religions have.)

Jovii: I also have people tell me that Mediums cannot find Christians in hell leh...because they are all in heaven... (*thinking* I have even felt and heard God. have you?)

Granny: Don’t be cheated by those people. Have you seen it yourself? They see you young then cheat you ar. don’t be like your aunt & her daughter and be cheated to believe them.

Then came along some of my also “don’t know where the courage came” from words…”There is only one God and He is my Lord and He is Jesus Christ!” thinking back now I think that it must not have been me… haha… I don’t know…most likely are the words from the depths of my heart.

I didn’t dare to tell my family in the past that I had received Christ. One of them is my Granny. When she ask I will say a lot of craps except acknowledging my identity as a Christian. One of the reasons is because I did not fully trust in my heart that Jesus Christ is truly the only God and that I can go to heaven just because He died for my sins and me saying yes, I accept You in my heart as my Lord and savior and You died for my sins. Now, with a child like faith, I believe that Jesus Christ is the one and only Lord and through Him I will be forgiven of all my sins and have a place in heaven!

Trust God for your salvation. Trust God with all things in our lives for He will want the best for us.

(to be continued)

Jovii
