Hello Friends,

As some of you people may already know, I went on a trip to Taiwan last week and just touched down today!Taiwan's really fun! The people there are super nice and yeah i had fun. Throughout the entire trip, Vk and I werent alone, I SWEAR God was with us the whole time. There were quite a series of unfortunate events but somehow, God was walking next to us. Freaky as it may sound, but yeah, He was around! Which is super cool!

Event #1
On the first day, Van and I somehow couldn't find the hotel we were supposed to stay. The address given to us was 353 CHANGCHUN ROAD. Because we took a bus to a nearby vicinity of the hotel, we had to draggg our luggage under the 38Degrees C sweltering weather to where the hotel was. But alas! No hotel! we saw 352, 354, NO 353!!, so we thought its opposite (that is the usual arrangement of housing estates in Sgp). Went opposite but still to no avail. We were tired and lost and somehow, NO ONE, I repeat, NO ONE knew where that hotel was. Tried calling a friend of my mum's, couldn't get through, Frustration was building up within ourselves as the seconds went by, everything was going wrong, we walked countless streets and passed by a million and one stores, but no hotel!! Called my mum and she said it exists. Finally I just prayed to God 'God please help us, please help us find the hotel', and suddenly i turned to my right, there the hotel was. "Howard Garden Suite" staring at my face. Goodness I was standing at the hotel's porch! To think we passed that place twice without noticing! Wah immediately went 'OMGOODNESS, Thank God Thank God!!' The thing is that i didnt know what led me to turn to my right, what led me to, of all place, stop there. God's with us.

Event #2
Taipei's taxi drivers, unlike Singapore's cab drivers, sometimes ask for a certain fee to scoot you away to your destination instead of the legal metered way. And i bet there are easily say 10000 odd taxis in Taipei? On the 3rd day, Vk & I wanted to go to some amusement park! We got lost you see, ended up circling around again under the scorching hot big red sun! The Taitai-Syndrome surfaced and we decided to take a cab. First time we are taking a cab in Taipei, male driver, say 40 odd?? First thing i noticed, Mr Taxi Driver reached out, gently pressed the small black button, a red 70 appeared! METERED WAY! wah not bad! Told him our destination, he wasnt too sure so he tried means and ways to find out about it. Then he told us that, our destination was a good 3-4hrs ride and it will cost us a bomb, and he kindly said that we ought to take the train or by bus. Will be much cheaper, he then offered to send us to the nearest MRT station/bus-stop. Which driver in the right mind, would give up on a lucrative deal. The taxi fare would probably amount to say 3000NT? we are on the losing end, but the Mr Taxi wasn't! To top it off, he went all out to check out our destination! Called his friends, lowered windscreen to ask another taxi driver, ran out of his cab to ask a random bus driver. SO NICE CAN!

Event #3
Also a taxi driver. As mentioned there are like 10000 taxis in Taipei, what are the chances of getting a female driver? No better still, what are the chances of getting a female driver in a ulupandan street and 10pm on a workday? probability's not high. Vk and I were quite worried that if we get a cab, will it be dangerous? what if the uncle dont bring us to our location how? Yet not heeding our senses, we just took off and hailed a cab, then we saw! FEMALE DRIVER! omg omg!!! wah both of us were SUPER relived. Although i think she cheated our money by taking the long route, but still! Its was as though God heard the voices in our minds (And no we didnt tell each other what was on our respectives mind - telepathy heh!), and then He SENT us a female driver!

Event #4
On the 2nd day, someone jumped off the MRT railing and got herself killed. We were heading towards the station she jumped, and we were on the next train. So that means if we took the earlier train and if we were at the first cabin, we would have felt the jerks and tremors after the collision or even have seen the suicide! Also, on the 4th day, some tourist bus skidded and 9passengers died. May be insignificant cuz we just went for a half-day tour. But its these little things you really want to thank God for protecting; the tour bus we were in, the train we were in. Oh and talk about tour bus, the people in our tour group were super nice as well! Mr Morocco and Ms Pro-Japan. They took care of us, invited us to have tea with them, and so accomodating!

Event #5
3 out of the 5 nights we were at Taiwan, there were random tikopeks/young guys talking/following us. we passed by the young guys, sensed them looking at us, we didnt care, they followed. Weird. There was this random uncle who smiled and VK then came up to us to talk. Asked where were we from, how old are we etc... And he got the tiko look. He wanted to board the same cabin as us but thank God, some Auntie came up to ask me for directions, Weird Tiko started talking to her. And there was Tauhuey uncles. now that was the 2nd night, the uncle started chatting with us, and we were totally bimbotic. We just answered whatever they asked. How old we were, where we were from, how long we're staying, when are we leaving, and they asked for our hotel (which we didnt give), and all the other random crappy questions. He still said in Chinese 'you see we all look so tiko you not scared ah', WAH.

But thank God we got away safely for all 3 ocassions. So timely how come that old lady appeared, so amazing how i felt that God was walking next to us when we were running away from tiko guy. (He was hanging ard at the station we stopped at).

Event #6
To end the series of unfortunate events: I HAD SOME WEIRD ALLERGY ON THE 4TH NIGHT.It itches, and its damn ugly. Imagine: Patches of HUGE mosquito bites all over your body. I was so shocked when i saw the poks (i call it poks lah) when i was bathing. Called my mum immediately and she was so worried. I was too but not so much, i was more of afraid i will turn ugly. HUR. but anw, apparently as long as i scratch the poks appear (or may be the poks appeared so i scratched? couldnt really see). So i was rather worried that if i sleep, i will scratch it and it will become worse the next morning. I kept praying, telling God to make it go away.

The next morning, all the poks on my leg disappeared (or so i thought), but at least it wasnt as serious as the night before. THen i realised that it was on my arms now, and my entire calf was 'infected', no choice had to go to the hospital. Thank God the hospital was nearby, thank God i received treatment asap (cuz went to emergency ward mah), although i hated the injection i got(!!), but i thank God i'm healed. Seriously, its all in God's hands.

Thank God for being with me. Really. And now that Joce, Audrey and Benita are in Aussie, i think we should all keep the 3 of them in prayers! Pray that there wont be racism there! I thank GOD for all He has done! So then, What are the little things YOU want to thank God for?

LOTSOFLOVE, GEN
