"But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves." - James 1:22

I like the word they use here: 'delude'. It means to deceive, to lie to yourself. I am not coming from a point of strength here but from a position of weakness knowing that I myself have fallen into tat stage many times. And what a timely reminder this is.

How do you live a life of a Christ-follower? There is a series of spoofs on YouTube that talks abt the difference between a Christian and a Christ-follower. To keep it simple: Do you just put up a front of being holy and act in everyway a Christisn should or do you truely allow an internal change towards Christ-likeness throu the daily transformation from the Word, which results in a lifestyle change?

From the inside out... thats the kind of change which begins from the heart and starts from allowing God's word to take root. We always struggle with things like taming our tongues, controlling our anger, keeping our minds pure etc. Dun know abt you but I am getting tired with struggling with all these. Cant be that we have to struggle with all these for the rest of our lives right? I believe that the answer lies in our choice: do we treat Christianity as an activity or club we join? Or do we treat it as a lifestyle? A new way of living?

Here's an example. the 100k challenge is simply a mobilisation to bless. But many of us face it with fear. How weird it is to think that something as fundamental for a Christian as to bless others have become so foreign, so fearful. Blessing others for a Christian should be as natural as us brushing our teeth everyday. Then why do we need to have the 100k challenge just to remind ourselves to do something so natural??

I have nothing against the 100k challenge. As a matter of fact i think it is good! Coz we (myself included) have forgotten that one of our key marks as a Christian is to bless others! My fear is that we start to think that outside of the programs the church has, like 100k challenge or miracle service, we do not have to do anything and just be comfortable with running our own lives and become very selfish. Then we have truely missed the point of following Christ and have missed the opportunity to become more like Christ.

So make the choice: Dun become a Christian who runs 'blessing projects' or 'praying projects'. Be a Christ-follower who lifestyle reflects a life being transformed by God. Stop deluding yourself.
