Some of you must be wondering what is under that plaster on my thumb. Some asked if it was a April Fools' joke. haha. certainly not! What exactly happened was, I was on my way to church in my dad's car and i rushed out of the car and slammed the door behind me together with my thumb. Due to the shocking pain, i pulled my stuck finger out. OUCH!
Trying not feel stupid I walked away from my dad's car as though nothing happened. Alot of things flashed thru my mind. Is my thumb broken? I still dare not look at my thumb. A horn came from my dad's car. only to know that the door was not closed properly. I should have known better that with my thumb stucked there, the door would obviously not be closed properly. haha! I quickly open the door and closed it and walked to church.
To my horror of horrors, when I looked at it, it was bleeding horribly. When I saw it, i have to admit, i was scared and afraid. I walked about 10m with a blank mind, not knowing what to do. Stupidly, I called Ps Eve for tissue. Like what can tissue do to a horribly bleeding and deep-cut thumb. hahaha.. thinking back now, its really hilarious. Anyway, thank God for Ps Eve and Ps Dan. They alerted the Medical Team at church to attend to me.
It was just a whole series of emotional ups and downs after that. With the growing intense pain, I could no longer do anything at ease. Life with a swollen thumb is really different. Though its like one of the smallest part of our body, but it is important. Trust Me! Out of the 5 fingers, I have grown to realise that the thumb is the most important. You need your thumb to type, You need your thumb to grip on to things, You need your thumb to SMS. Without your thumb's ability to function fully, its really a chore.
Treasure your thumb.
I thank God for my 10 fingers..
Stay tuned for Part 2... A Revelation From God about my Thumb.. :)
