God has not promised skies are always blue,

Flower-strewn pathways all our lives through;

God has not promised sun without rain,

Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.

But God has promised strength for the day,

Rest for the labour, light for the way,

Grace for the trials, help from above,

Unfailing sympathy, undying love.

-Kristone

These few days, school life hasn’t been easy. In fact school life, was never a smooth journey but these few days have been so much more difficult. With the pressure to perform well for the upcoming mid year exams, events, extra lessons that causes me to reach home at 8 plus daily, I have struggled with myself to find time to spend with my family, study, pray and have quiet time with god. But through it all, I’ve managed to persevere and pull through this difficult week.

I really thank God that though my quiet time spent with him was insufficient, God has still heard my prayers, that he’s blessed me with wisdom where I lack thereof, for giving me strength to get through each and every day, for understanding from my teachers and family regarding the workload that I’m struggling with currently.

Still, I must remind myself to not take God’s blessings for granted, so that I will remember every time I ring the “prayer bell”. I’ll remember that God isn’t our servant who answers to our every need and call, and I should be the one who’s serving our awesome God.

So Brothers and Sisters whom many I know are having their mid year exams soon, I pray for the assurance of the Lord to be with you, the wisdom to answer our exams scripts, the strength to cope with our workload and most importantly, to still fix our eyes on Jesus in every area of our life. Do not be afraid, for indeed God will carry us through it all!

Amen.

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. “
James 1:2-3,5
