Last night, my brother struck me with a question while I was doing my quiet time. He questioned, “If being a Christian is so great and fun, why is there so few Christians??” At that point I didn’t know how to answer him so I just ignored him and tried to concentrate on my quiet time. But that question bothered me a lot as I was quite determined to give him an answer that would make him ponder about his current relationship with GOD. I started to pray and hoping that the lord would speak to me. After my quiet time, I went up to my mom and talked to her about it and she gave me just one reply, “go read the book that I asked your brother to read...”

The title of the book is “answers and reasons”.

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many may enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it.” – Matthew 7:13, 14

Two reasons that spoke to me were the simplicity of the gospel and the problem of fear.

* To enter into the kingdom of god, Jesus taught us that we must first become like children, to have that child-like faith. In everything we do, place god first and to trust in HIM wholeheartedly.

* being a Christian and reading the lord’s word daily shows us the truth about our lives and the truth hurts.

Many feels that Christianity is a religion with a set of negative commandments saying, “you cannot do this, you cannot do that”. They get the idea that, when you believe in Jesus, you resign yourself to a life of restrictions.

It’s a sad fact that some Christians may give the impression to the world that their faith consist of a group of negative commandments.

Therefore, we as Christians, we should go out there and show the world that the Christian life is anything but boring or unhappiness, because there is the daily joy and excitement of knowing the living GOD and experiencing all the good things HE has in stored for us!

Personally, I feel that Christianity is the easiest and also the most difficult religion to believe. It is the easiest because GOD has already planned and done everything for us. We just have to be like kids to have that child-like faith! It is also the most difficult religion to believe in because we have to submit ourselves to GOD, to do the things that pleases HIM. And very much often, the things that pleases GOD are not always the things that we like…

So brothers and sisters, I pray that the LORD will continue to use each and everyone of us as a mouthpiece to spread forth HIS word and to be a living testimony for the people around us, to show them how great it is to be a Christian! :D
