Persist in Him

It is really nice that every time when I go over to my grandma’s house for dinner, I would be greeted by my grandma’s dog named joyce. The amazing thing about this dog is that she never fails to be excited even if I had already seen her the day before or even just hours ago.

There was this day when I had 2 big bags of stuffs in my hands which I had to place in my grandma’s kitchen. As I entered, I was unable to give joyce a good scratching or even just pat her on the head. Initially, I thought that she would just run off and find someone else who would pamper her. But to my surprise, she persisted and followed me all the way to the kitchen till I put down my stuffs. And being me as always, I pretended not to see her and walk out to the living room to sit on the sofa. When I was seated, she would run towards me and do all the dog stuffs.

It was at this time when I thought about how persistent joyce has been, god reminded me that this is what he wanted from me. And as I recalled the joy when I saw joyce running towards me and cuddling up next to me, god also reminded me that it’s the same kind of joy he would feel if I persist in him. And with faith that one day, he would embrace me in his arms feeling that same joy as I had when joyce cuddled up next to me.

Psalm 123

1 I lift my eyes to you,

to you whose throne is in heaven.

2 As the eyes of slaves look to the hand

of their master,

as the eyes of a maid look to the

hand of her mistress,

so our eyes look to the lord our god,

till he shows us his mercy.

Let us persist and continue to look to the lord our god until the day that we may see him face to face.

(God has continued to touch me as he gave me these 2 verses to match up with my sharing. After god has assured me what to share, I asked him for help as I didn’t have any verse(s) in mind to “match up” with. So, I did the “flip the bible and stop, now look for a verse” method and indeed it worked at first try. Of course, with the help of god. Thank you father.)
