P.R.E.S.S – A Decision to make it an Attitude

As I received this acronym from Pastor Eugene during New Year Countdown Party, and refreshed again during last wk's svc, I started to ponder why PRESS represented the following:

P raise

R ejoice

E ndure

S alvation is

S ure

The Lord began to teach me a few things with this "word".. Apparently it's the 3 attitudes that we ought to have, and the 1 promise that we have to hold on to:

1) Praise

"I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live” Psalms 146: 2

2) Rejoice

“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

3) Endure

“Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.” 2 Timothy 2:3

4) Salvation is Sure

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

To some of you, the above are very familiar bible verses to you, but the important part of this is that these things are an ATTITUDE..

It is not of our human nature to continually praise the Lord.

It’s weird to rejoice and give thanks when something really really bad happens.

It’s difficult to say that you’ll endure when the whole world seems to fall apart before your very eyes.

It’s sometimes hard to say that you believe that Salvation is definitely sure…

It’s hard to choose the “weird things” that God mentions, but it’s your decision to make it an attitude. Your attitude to say I will praise the Lord all my life, I will give thanks in all circumstances, or even say I will be a good soldier and endure hardship.

Jesus, right before He was betrayed, prayed and cried before the Lord, asking Him why He had to go through the tough road towards the Cross. Regardless of how hard He struggled, He managed to stay firm. I believe He made the decision to endure, to give thanks and to praise, because He knew that everyone would receive this promise, that “Salvation is Sure”

Will you make your choice today? Let’s choose to have an attitude of Jesus. God Bless You!! Amen
