I was listening to an old christian song last night.. and a line totally struck me.

"..i'll never know how much it cost, to see my sin upon the cross.."
(FYI: Here I am to worship)

Many atimes we think that a little sin wont kill, for eg. irregular QTs, saying a lie, disrespecting our parents or simply placing our desires above God's desires for us... to some of us they may be minute and insignificant, besides we always assume that since our God is a God of compassion, grace and mercy, He'll easily forgive us each time. Gradually, we begin to take things for granted.. we abuse His mercy, His love.

Now take some time to ponder.

Each time we indulge in our so-called little sins.. we are actually driving a nail into the palms of Jesus, over and over again, for He died on the cross for our sins. And our loving God who loves us so much will still forgive us when we confess our sins and repent.

Pain + Mercy + Forgiveness + Love = Immeasurable.
It just blew my mind when i came to understand the above equation. Having bore the consequences of our sins for us, ie. the path to Calvary, Jesus still extends His arms of mercy, forgiveness and most importantly, love.

Can you imagine what Jesus had went through for us?That is why we'll never know how much our sins weigh upon Jesus, both physically and emotionally.

I pray that whenever we are tempted to commit that little sin, we'll remember Jesus on the Cross and not drive another nail into His hands.

In His love & mine,
Joce
