Falling in love with Jesus is the best thing I've ever done

We have become a 24/7 society. Overscheduled. Overworked. Overcommitted. Overwhelmed.
Busyness can be the product of doing lots of good things, but are they the good things we should be doing?

The greatest thief that steals our hunger for God is our busy lifestyle. Have you ever been guilty of doing something else like watching tv/going out/going to sleep/studying and hence postponing devotion with God? Our busy lifestyle replaces God. Our interest in Scripture decreases, and our desire to pray diminishes.
Imagine not breathing and continuing on with life at full speed. you'd collapse! we sing songs of how God is 'the air we breathe' and yet we easily forget about Him when there's other stuff going on in our lives. the voice of our inner man becomes quieter as we spend lesser and lesser time with Him. our spirit is weakened and our flesh becomes more dominant.

Also, it is not just secular activities that take up our time, but 'the greatest competitor of devotion to Jesus is service to Him. The one aim of the call of God is the satisfaction of God, not a call to do something for Him.' sometimes we're guilty of being too busy SERVING God to LOVE Him. and yet we're first called to BE His children and then to go out into the world to DO His works. without an intimate relationship with the Lord, we cannot do much.

if you have lost your spiritual appetite, open your bible and seek the Lord again. Wait with anticipation to hear His voice. He is always faithful and will never be absent when we turn to Him. God waits, but don't disappoint Him.
in the midst of all your activities, take a breather. spend some time alone with God. talk to Him. He knows all that's going on in our lives, but He still loves to hear us tell Him everything, even if it's something trivial like how our day has been.

when was the last time you simply hung out with Jesus? no agenda, no prayer requests, just spending time enjoying His presence and talking to Him. Take some time off life to be with Him. :)
