many times in our lives, we always question God.. why is it that even though we have accepted Jesus as our Saviour and we have chosen to walk right with him, problems keep coming up? i thought God would remove all of them? ... well, i was reading this book and this section made alot of sense...

but before i introduce the story, lemme type a song lyrics that is rather familiar (trust me, it has a link)

give thanks with a grateful heart
give thanks to the Holy One
give thanks because He's given
Jesus Christ His son

and now let the weak say i am strong
let the poor say i am rich
because of what the Lord has done for us
give thanks

think it's one of danny's favourite hits... haha

coming back..

here's the story:

"Life is hard. there's just no getting around this fact. even though we are following God, things still get really difficult. people we love get sick and die. sometimes our dreams end up in disappointment. and with wars and famines and sickness, the world sometimes seems to be falling apart."
.
.
.
the book goes on to talk about the lives of Elijah and Jonah, 2 examples of people in the bible who have gone thrh alot for the Lord.
.
.
.

"i believe one reason God allows us to experience hard things in our lives is so we can become the warriors God wants us to become. God wants people of integrity who are tough, tested, confident, strong and courageous. He wants battle-worn soldiers who know what it's like to be in the trenches and aren't afraid of a challenge. Allowing battles and difficulties to come into our lives ensures a training ground to grow the kind of troops God is looking for to change the world.

Another reason God allows tough times is so we learn to look beyond the here and now and to him, heaven and our spiritual heaven. it is very easy to get sucked into the world, but when God allows something to rock our world, it is often a wake-up call to pay attention to what is the most important. Not only that, but He also uses struggles in our lives to open the eyes of people around us. I don't know how many times people have said to me that through my struggles they have come to know God or gained a new perspective on what difficulty, challeng and adversity are all about.

one thing i have learned when i am going through a particularly tough time is to take a look around me. 99% of the time, i can find someone who is in a much worse situation that i am, and all of a sudden i have a lot to be thankful for and my situation doesn't seem so bad.

i have also learned that God doesn't put me through hard times for His enjoyment. the hard stuff in life is for something important, so i better pay attention and get the most i possibly can out of the experience. otherwise, i would be wasting my time and an opportunity to be a part of something great.

Although it might be alittle hard to see the good in a terrible situation, we can trust that God will use it someday, somehow for something incredible, and all the bad that happened in that situation will somehow be turned towards his glory and the good of those who trust him" by Michelle Akers

doesnt the song mean alot of sense right now? a verse for u guys...
"be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18

one more thing... do you rmb that pastor eugene always ask, "is the army of God ready?" ... we dont say "yes sir" for nothin, by saying it, it means we are joining the "trainings" that God has planned out for us ...

now... you ready to join the army of God, who has an ultimate plan for you?
