What Would Jesus Do?

Something happened tonight tat made me think of a lesson i learnt in Service Learning(SL) Training.

During the SL Training we did a little SL project. It was to give out 2 bottles of water each to people around Bukit Merah Central to bless those who are thirsty. After all the planning for the Service Objective and Learning Objective (SOLO) and other stuff, we went in groups to give out the water. To my surprise, even in the hot afternoon sun it was quite hard to give it out! Even those uncles sitting at the benches who looked hot and thirsty did not want the water! I had some trouble giving out the water! I couldnt understand it! Back at the debrief after the project Ps Lily shared abt some things to take note of but one thing she mentioned hit me: not everyone will receive the service u want to provide not matter how good it is. How true! Even in the hot afternoon sun seemingly thirsty people still rejected us when we offered the water to them for free.

So what should our responses be? How should our attitudes be even thou we know tat thou we come in the best intentions to bless people we will still face those who will reject us? Do we just go thru the motion of the service and not do our best?

Jesus came to be among Man with the purest intentions: To reconcile us back to God the Father. But many rejected Him, not willing to believe in Him even after all the miracles He performed and all the prophecies tat came true. Still Jesus went about the Father's business and spread the Gospel to all who would listen with all His heart. He preached to the multitudes of those tat would listen and many believed Him. He suffered all the persecutions and humiliation. He did His best to share God's love with all.

We all serve in ministry with the best intentions: to direct people back to God. To teach them to obey God's instructions and to love Him with all their hearts. To make them disciples of God. But still people will reject us. Not only those who do not believe that Jesus came to die for them when we share the Gospel with them, but even those who are Christians reject us in some ways as we try to disciple them. No matter how much we try to disciple them, they choose to go their own ways and not listen. And it really bugs me that they would have to take tat long journey of learning. I have slowly learnt of God's sovereignty in our lives and learnt to trust in His timing, but i honestly struggle.

So what should our responses be? How do we approach this service in ministry? The answer....... WWJD???
