Just somethings tat the Lord is showing me recently.

1. Be a Worker in the Fields
Can't really remember when..... God reminded me this: 'Lionel, u have not be working in the fields.' At that very moment I knew exactly what God meant. Ever since i decided tat i wanted to build into my guys more and to anchor them in the Lord more, i have neglected my duties to win for the Lord.

I wasn't the one tat will take care of the guests that my guys brought.. i left tat to my guys. I left the inviting of frens to my guys. And i even left the consolidation work to the duty consolidator. And as i did so, my attitude changed towards wining souls for the Lord and God just stopped bringing people to the cell. So when the Lord reminded me tat i needed to work in the fields again, i started to be the one that welcomes the guests, make them feel comfortable and consolidated people, to call them and invite them for service and cell, God started to bring new people again to the cell! Donavan, Nigel (nick's bro), Arthur.... Thank God! Guess i will just have to learn how to juggle working in the fields and to anchor my boys at the same time.... hahaha....

2. See the Potential
One thing the Lord showed me during the POC camp. On the second day, D4 (Terry, Xiong, Kenny and I) met early in the morning at 9am to worship and pray for the camp. Xiong shared a devotion on the great commission. Basically the great commission called us to make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and to teach them to observe all that I(God) commanded.

Xiong pointed out tat to make disciples and to baptise them is like a one-time action for each person. Once u win them and baptise them, u dun have to do it agian. But when it comes to teaching them in what God commanded us to do, it is a lifetime journey. And we need to look at the potential of the people and not their abilitites or their appearances. To always believe in the talent they have and where they can be.

And tat very day God taught us tat lesson. A lot of things went wrong tat day. Program messed up, logistics messed up, info not passed down and it poured heavily during camp fire. Kenny was pissed. As Terry, Kenny and i were just sitting at the grandstand during their supper time just sharing about what has happened, God reminded me of the devotion in the morning. Tat what we are doing now is to actually mentoring them in the running of things. And they just needed to experience more so tat they will learn and become more capable in those areas. This mentoring process will take time... a lifetime of learning which we will need to walk along with them. And we need to be looking at their potential.

And He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." When Jesus called His 12 disciples, they were fishermen, tax collectors etc... men who if u were to see them u wun think of the powerful things they will do a few years down the road. But Jesus saw their potential and discipled them. Jesus spent the next few yrs building them and teaching them. And they rocked the world.

I will be helping out at a TYS camp at Bedok Town Sec Sch for the normal tech classes. From what i heard they will be rowdy, short attention spanned and might be hard to control them and to get their attentions. If we were to just look at their outward appearances we will never know how to love them. But if we were to look at their potential, to see them thru Jesus's eyes, we will know how to love them and realise how much they need God to come and transform their lives. And the compassion for them will naturally come. And they really have some great potentials!!! This is what God has shown me. It's not tat they dun have, its just tat we cant see beyond their apprearances and appreaciate them.

My life was transformed coz someone saw the potential in me and decided to invest their time to teach me and to build me. I am sure ur life is where it is now also coz someone chose to see the potential in you and not just ur appearance. You can pass it on! Choose to see the potential in the person u are discipling or reaching out to, and he/she might just become the next Paul or Peter!!! ;)
