John21:15-19 "When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?" "Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my lambs."
Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me?" He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep."
The third time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" He said, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my sheep. I tell you the truth, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go." Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, "Follow me!"

Last sunday after service, the snr gers and E7 met up with Eve to followup on Ps Khong's sermon on Corporate Holiness and how the sermon spoke to us, what wld we want to see hanged in our lives. We each shared our piece and when it was Eve's turn to share, she shared to us abt the above passage. See the emphasis on the bold and italics. "Feed my sheep" & "Take care of my lambs". Ever since, my heart just hurt uncontrollably when I think abt my gers, and even when im not.

Last nite was the 1st nite of Sanctification. It also happened to be Valentine's day, a day well-celebrated by lovers and merchants alike. I wanted to meet my darling Jesus today, i said to myself. I love Jesus, or so i claimed. As the worship went on, Jesus Lover of my soul. Lover.. haha! When we move on into the chorus, "I love You........ I need You", this passage came back to me, very strongly.

I sang "I love You", He said, "Feed my sheep". I was stunned, bcos it was LOUD. My heart just started to flow with so much of His love for my gers. Yes, i can feel His heart for His sheep. I asked the Lord, "can I? Be a good shepherd?" Ps Julie walked by and prayed for me, she prayed, whatever burden i have in my heart, ask the Lord and He will give it to me. My immediate response was a 'huh? sure anot?' (did i hear correctly?) followed by, an affirmative repeated "ask the Lord" from her.

I fell under the presence of the Lord as i started to believe that the Word was for ME. I never knew u can get slain during worship? Guess God had to do something extraordinary to me, before i can believe in His revelation ba.

As many of you (gers) have noticed, our tribe has grown so much over the last few mths, and within last yr. We are growing faster than we (E7) can raise up. There are so many sheep, but just a few 'trainee shepherds'. Eve, the master shepherd wld be due to give birth soon. Will we be able to feed the sheep, take care of the lambs in her absence? Is anyone willing to join the 'herd'?

I am not asking you to become a 'trainee shepherd', or to raise up into a 'fullfledge shepherd' immediately. What we are asking for, is for your commitment to remain as part of the 'herd', not to walk away in loose packs. Those who have been with us for a longer time, are you able to take care of visitors/contacts/new believers when they come? Are you willing to befriend them and invite them to be part of this family, this herd? Maybe it is time to figure out, what are you doing in this herd. A 'black sheep', bahhhh? Or a stray sheep? Or a sheep who watches out for each other? Who recognises the voice of the Shepherd? (See Jn 10:1-18)

I read Lionel's entry and found myself asking, what more areas to die to?? I found my answer when i did QT today. Not that i do not already know, but more of an affirmation where i shld work on.

Jesus said, "Feed my sheep. I tell you the truth, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go." Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God.

My struggle is to be led where i do not want to go. Lord, then change my heart.........
