"He must become greater, I must become less." John 3:30

In the book of John, John the baptist made this very important statement. The backdrop was he was highyly known in preaching the message of repentance at his time and was a very sought after discipler. In fact he was a distant relative of Jesus.

Yet in all humility, he confess that he was only a messenger for Jesus. That he must decrease in importance and that Jesus must increase. This was a man whose heart was to proclaim and lift up the name of God than himself or his acheivements.

Sometimes as christians we bask in that we know God and that we have the answers to life. We bask in our abilities to influence people with our new found wisdom. We forget often where it all first came from. Sadly we don't even point the source to Jesus. Don't make a fan club after ourselves but a tribe who believes in first the reality of Jesus in our lives.

Point them to Jesus for we are only beacons of light, carriers of His mercy and grace. I pray that this Devotion site will not only be visited by the older ones or just the leaders. But that it will be a platform of learning for our younger ones. So please invite your spiritual children as well as others, back-sliden or lost. That they might find hope and release thru the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Danny
