Luke 11:40-42
"Martha was disttacted with much serving ...... But Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken from her."

This is a very familiar passage which all of us know. As I was meditating and pondering over this short passage, I remember always being told not to be too busy with serving the Kingdom and forget the King. However, today, God showed me a new insight that I've not seen before.

Martha was also serving God. In fact her aim was to please God with her service. Yet her mistake was the service became more important than the Lord himself. What began as a way to serve the Lord slowly and subtly became a way to serve herself ... she has forgotten that the meal was to honour Jesus, not her!

As I reflect, I believe all of us especially leaders need to be very careful not to start counting every work we do and focus so much on what we have not done and what others have not done. Remember whatever we do is to honour Him. It doesn't matter if people sees them!

It's easy to forget who is the servant and who is to be served ;p

Eve.
